driftin' through another nameless town watch another nameless sun go down I don't know a single soul around i'm all alone searchin' for what I don't know to find to catch me up with all my wasted time will I be around on down the line I just don't know and like a tumblin' weed i'm bound to roam any way the breeze is bound to blow lookin' for today, to get me to tomorrow wanderin' down this lone destinless road no signs pointin' me which way to go thought by now i'd probably come to know but I still don't one I had a lover's hand to hold the fire died, my feet became too cold now i'm lost and listless in the fold I can't find a home and like a tumblin' weed i'm bound to roam any way the breeze is bound to blow lookin' for today, to get me to tomorrow like a tumblin' weed blowin' with the breeze I search the world for me i'm just a tumblin' weed i'm just a tumblin' weed

his pistol was well-known to be the quickest in the west and killin' folks for lawlessness was just what he done best he kept the peace in frontier towns, he fought the civil war but he sat in that saloon one day, his back turned to the door on a trip across the oregon trail the legend came to be four highway men ambushed a wagon train for robbery four bullets laid the men to rest in the early mornin' chill and so became the feared nickname the wild man called bill when the frontier turned a battle ground bill wore the union blue he fought with ironheartedness and spared the lives of few but life without it's luxuries proved more than he could take he left for liquor and the game where money was at stake wild bill whoa wild bill while passin' through missouri wild bill lived up his name a springfield card sharp called him out for playin' a crooked game they settled up out in the square for all the town to see the dude fell hard down to the dirt he died there instantly acquitted on the grounds of self defense bill packed his trunk he wound up out in abeline, town marshal and a drunk two more men quit their livin' from the reckless lawman's gun and the fed up townfolk ran him off into the settin' sun wild bill whoa wild bill now deadwood was a boomtown in the black dakota hills the endin' of the killing line for the infamous wild bill those drinkin' years caught up now old bill couldn't draw so fast and a sip of gleason's whiskey would soon prove to be his last a drunken man named jack stepped in the number 10 saloon he spied his brother's killer with the gamblers in the gloom two aces and a pair of eights became the final draw of the wild man shot dead in the head by a gun he never saw wild bill whoa wild bill his pistol was well-known to be the quickest in the west and killin' folks for lawlessness was just what he done best he kept the peace in frontier towns, he fought the civil war but he sat in that saloon one day, his back turned to the door wild bill whoa wild bill

well I took all my tricks of the trade and I packed 'em in a trunk headed westward on a train to try my skill and luck i've played the game long as i've lived and i've won some and i've lost but anytime the stakes get high i'll win at any cost last night I got to reno late but I found me a game stakes went high, I drew an ace and that's when the trouble came see when I showed that winnin' hand those suckers got upset they claimed that ace of mine came from the bottom of the deck now i'm on that first train leavin' I got a ticket on that outta this town line see they called me for cheatin' I can't say that I ain't guilty of the crime so i'm on that first train leavin' I hope it's leavin' on time well is stood up from that table quick and I left the money there drew my gun and fired one into the smoky air and just before I made the door a wind rushed by my ear a bullet split the door frame lord I was sure my time was near now i'm on that first train leavin' I got a ticket on that outta this town line see they called me for cheatin' I can't say that I ain't guilty of the crime so i'm on that first train leavin' I hope it's leavin' on time well I stumbled out into the street and I made a left-hand turn another shot whizzed by my head I had no time to burn I made tracks for the station, found the ticket man and said sir please give me one ticket home so's I don't wind up dead now i'm on that first train leavin' I got a ticket on that outta this town line see they called me for cheatin' I can't say that I ain't guilty of the crime so i'm on that first train leavin' I hope it's leavin' on time
